FAQ's
Q: Can I bring someone with me to my tattoo appointment?
A: Unfortunately not, no. We do not allow people to bring anyone with them unless they are serving a carers role of some sort and this is arranged beforehand. Please respect that it is our place of work, and I guarantee we wouldn't be allowed to come with you to work either.
Q: How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?
A: In UK, you must be 18 to get a tattoo, and parental consent does not allow for exceptions. Any artist found tattooing under aged clients can be prosecuted, fined and lose their licence. Some may even face prison. It is also illegal for anyone to tattoo without a licence.
Q: Does getting a tattoo hurt?
A: Yes, of course they do, but they can vary from person to person, or what style you have, or even the artist carrying out the work. Your pain barrier could be so different to even a family member or friend, so no one really knows how you'll be on the day. Let's face it, they can't hurt too badly if people want to keep getting them!
Q: Should I eat before and bring snacks with me?
A: Absolutely! Keeping your blood sugar up and keeping your body fed will really help on the day of your appointment. Bring some sugary snacks and drinks, even some lunch with you will really help you get through the day.
Q: Can I bring some headphones or some entertainment with me for the day?
A: Of course! So many clients feel rude for plugging themselves in to some music or a film or audiobook. Please don't! Whatever helps you zone out! Sometimes even your artist may put on some headphones to really zone in and concentrate on their work.
Q: Do I need to pay a booking fee before my tattoo?
A: Yes. A non refundable booking fee will be required to make an appointment. This will be deducted from the total of your sitting. Please give at least 72 hours notice of change of date or needing to cancel. Changes and cancellations within this time will result in the booking fee being forfeit.
Q: Do I see my design before my appointment?
A: Designs are produced for the day of the appointment, but don't worry, we make sure that you're happy with the design before going ahead and make any changes we need to.
Q: Should I get a tattoo if I'm ill?
A: It is not a good idea to get a tattoo while you're feeling ill. Your immune system will already be fighting off whatever is the issue, which will mean you are more likely to have an unpleasant tattooing experience and not sit very well for it. Even a migraine or a common cold can make it really difficult for you to sit through a tattoo. In addition to this, you could pass your illness on to your artist or anyone else in the studio.
Q: Can you tattoo over scars?
A: Yes you can! They must be a good 2-3 years healed though, as the skin will be far too thin and delicate to tattoo over.
